"You witnessed history. Now you can commemorate it."

Monroe, CT 06468 (PRNewsExpress) October 7, 2009 — Two Connecticut companies, Church Hill Classics (CHC) and the Black Heritage Commemorative Society (BHCS), are working together to showcase lithographs of two recent moments in America’s presidential history.  The lithographs have been created from original art work by renowned artist Cliff Spohn who resides in Shelton, Connecticut.

CHC, headquartered in Monroe, is a leading manufacturer in the diploma and picture frame industry, and BHCS, located in Wilton, is a preeminent source for Black American cultural postal commemoratives and biography cards in the US. The artist’s exclusive hand-signed first-edition fine art lithographs are titled “Victory” and “Unity”.  Completed first, “Victory” depicts President Barack Obama during his election night address in Grant Park, while “Unity” captures his inauguration day ceremony as First Lady Michelle Obama and their daughters, Sasha and Malia, look on.  Mr. Spohn’s use of vibrant colors and his detailed style really capture human emotion.  He has created a piece that will make any American stop and say “I remember feeling very proud to be an American that day.”  The lithographs can be seen online at www.obamaframes.com.

According to Lucie Voves, owner and founder of CHC, “We were really excited to join forces with the team at the BHCS.  Cliff’s art is exciting and really captures the essence and emotion of these two historic days.  We also wanted these fine art pieces to be ‘for the people’ so we’ve offered them at incredibly attractive prices.  More importantly, everything is made right here in the USA.”

Each fine art lithograph is of museum quality — rendered on acid-free archival paper, and preserved with archival coating to last for generations.  A framed “Victory” lithograph features a no-longer-available official campaign button set into a beveled mat opening.  Similarly, a framed “Unity” stands out with a custom-minted, presidential medallion with a richly enameled solid metal Presidential seal set into a beveled mat opening.  There are several options in purchasing Mr. Spohn’s lithographs.  The greatest value would be acquiring both lithographs to display together as a set.

Mr. Spohn’s lengthy career includes numerous historical portrait commissions.  The largest such commission was to paint 94 portraits of prominent African Americans for the Black Heritage Commemorative Society.

Custom framing lithographs is not something new for CHC, but most often they have featured campus buildings.  A number of their framed lithographs, by award-winning artists, include Harkness Tower at Yale University by Andre Junget, the U.S. Naval Academy Chapel by Charles McVicker, University of Virginia’s lithograph of Jefferson’s Rotunda by Camilla Churchill, and a black and white lithograph of The Arch at the University of Georgia by Charles Overly.
