(Nassau, The Bahamas, July 2010)
The July 2010 issue of The Bahamas Investor (http://www.thebahamasinvestor.com) - the jurisdiction’s primary source for business and investment information - has just been released. The Bahamas Investor magazine is an international supplement to the Bahamas Handbook which is an annual publication delineating the history, culture and business and investment opportunities in Bahamas.
The July 2010 issue of the investor magazine from Bahamas looks at some of the players behind key foreign direct investment projects in the island nation. On the cover is one of the region’s youngest chief executive officers and heir to the Sandals resorts empire, Adam Stewart. Adam talks about the hotel chain’s latest acquisition on Great Exuma in the business supplement. An excerpt from the coverage in the Bahamas Investor magazine reads, “When we take over hotels, we try to look to see where the previous owners went wrong. Four Seasons is an amazing hotel company, but they are a big company. We on the other hand are a pioneering, innovative company that can bob and weave a lot easier than the bigger guys.”

Also the July issue of The Bahamas Investor takes a look at one of the world’s fastest growing
economies, China, and how it is becoming one of the largest investors in The Bahamas. The Asian economic powerhouse is gifting the jurisdiction a $100 million sports stadium, extending a substantial, low-interest loan for infrastructure development, and underpinning the construction and financing of the multi-billion dollar Baha Mar resort project on New Providence.
The Bahamas Investor being a wealth management and investor magazine examines some of the finer points of these developments, the ins and outs of doing business with the Chinese, and what mutual benefits can be derived from bilateral exchanges of this nature. The July 2010 Bahamas Investor business supplement also includes stories on the benefits of corporate mentoring, investor altruism in The Bahamas and the return of the glamorous Star Class yachting regatta to the jurisdiction’s warm and crystal clear waters. The current issue also includes a colorful and informative 32-page section on island living in The Bahamas.
